Located within a bustling parade of shops and just a stone’s throw away from Hinchley Wood station, The Butcher in the Wood brings a contemporary take on the butcher’s shops of the past. Opening its doors in August 2017, Ben had one ambition in mind – to make a traditional butcher shop more appealing and modern, whilst giving everybody a taste of meat as it ought to be, along with enthusiastic, approachable, knowledgeable staff.
Ben is passionate about sourcing and supplying the finest free-range meat, game and artisanal products from British farmers and producers with the highest of animal welfare standards. Combining this with knowledgeable and personal service is what makes the Butcher in the Wood so special.
Our shelves are stacked high with local produce and fresh vegetables and our hooks are gleaming with high quality, British native breed meats. Our small butchers team use traditional cutting techniques and we hand make an exciting range of BBQ meats, all combined with a friendly and knowledgeable approach to the meats we sell over the counter.
